2Tre Organics Grade A Sri Lankan Vanilla Beans are sourced directly from smallholder farmers in Sri Lanka at fair market price — a direct-trade relationship that ensures both exceptional quality and equitable compensation at the source.

Each pod meets Grade A specification: at minimum 6 inches in length, dark brown to black in color, supple and oily to the touch, densely packed with seeds, and carrying the deep, inviting aroma characteristic of premium vanilla. Our beans are traditionally harvested and conditioned for months to develop their full, complex flavor profile — a slow curing process that cannot be rushed.

Over time, a fine crystal-like coating may develop on the exterior of the pod. This is not spoilage — it is vanillin crystallization, the physical expression of exceptionally high vanillin content. It is a mark of quality, not a defect, and is prized by professional pastry chefs and extract makers.

Use the whole bean — split lengthwise and scrape the seeds into custards, ice cream, baked goods, beverages, and coffee, or steep the entire pod in cream, milk, or spirits for extract. The spent pod still carries flavor and can be buried in sugar to make vanilla sugar or steeped a second time in liquid applications.

Storage: Do not refrigerate — cold temperatures cause the beans to lose moisture and flavor. Store in the vacuum-sealed, BPA-free, food-grade bag provided, in a cool dry place. Shelf life approximately 1 year under proper storage conditions.
